The hand and foot of Chinese student Jun Lin were mailed last week to Canadian political party offices. Police said they could not immediately confirm if the new body parts were Lin’s other extremities.
Following a week on the lam, the porn actor and sometime escort was nabbed Monday in a Berlin Internet cafe while reading news coverage of the manhunt. The manager recognized him.
Magnotta allegedly tortured and killed his lover, Lin, 33 — beheading and dismembering the body, and eating a piece of flesh with a knife and fork. He is believed to have filmed the May 25 killing and then uploaded to the Internet a horrific 11-minute video titled “1 Lunatic, 1 Ice Pick.”
Lin’s severed left foot was mailed to Canada’s Conservative Party, his left hand to the Liberal Party.
Meanwhile, Lin’s parents were preparing to fly to Montreal to retrieve their son’s dismembered body and bring it back home for burial.
The search for Magnotta was launched after the grisly body parts were discovered May 29, the same day a torso in a suitcase was found in an alley near the suspect’s Montreal studio apartment.
Before splitting Canada, Magnotta vowed he would kill again and police soon tracked him to Paris via his cell phone.
But Magnotta managed to stay ahead of his pursuers — and he even hooked up with several men — before hightailing it to Berlin.
